Plus Codes by Google Maps to Share Address
In our lives, we give the address to someone almost daily or weekly. Especially in the current covid-19 scenario, we have to provide the address for the delivery of essentials and groceries. But what if you don’t have the address and you want to direct someone to reach your current location.
As per Google, out of 2 billion people on this planet, about 25 percent either don’t have an address or have an address that isn’t easy to locate. For this challenge, Google had launched Plus Codes in 2015. Plus Codes are simple and can be used to identify any location uniquely.
Plus Codes: Digital Address to Share
Now, It’s easy for someone with an Android device to share his/her location using Plus Codes in Google Maps. We all know the blue dot that represents the current location in Google Maps. You just have to tap the blue dot to get a Plus Code for your current location to share with others.
You can Search Plus Codes on Google Maps and even Google Search. A Plus Code is an alphanumeric code that can be combined with a locality (for example, FWM8+V9, Ibadan, Nigeria). Beyond using the blue dot, you can also find the Plus Code for a location by tapping and holding the map to drop a pin at a site you want a Plus Code for.
So Plus Codes are easy to share the location quickly even without knowing the address.
