Name Image with Keyword

Name your image file with your targeting keyword. We have to rename the image with the keywords to rank that image in google image search for the same keyword. For example, in place of abc.png, use image-seo.png.

Copyright Images

We only have to use licensed images. Do not copy any image from other websites. We can buy pictures from Shutterstock, Getty images, or imagesbazaar as well.

Reduce Image Size

We should reduce the file size of an image. We can compress images from online tools like tinyjpg and compress now. Compression is important to load your image fast when someone is opening your website in a browser. It helps in increasing the speed of your website.

ALT Tag

We have to include keywords in the alt attribute of an image tag. We can include the title as well to define that image. The image tag is denoted as <img src=”.” alt=”” >

Image File Types

There are various image file types available, but JPG, PNG, or GIF are common ones to use in your website. GIF is used for moving images. I generally use PNG in my website.

Image Sitemap

You can have an image sitemap as well—images in Sitemap increase the chances of crawling and indexing of your images. Yoast plugin provides a sitemap solution also if you have a WordPress website.
